Hoffmann & Baron LLP Managing Partner Quoted In ROI-NJ

Daniel Scola, Jr., Managing Partner, Hoffmann & Baron, LLP, was recently quoted in a ROI-NJ article where he discussed the importance of speaking with a technical client as someone from their industry.

Scola was featured in the section titled, ‘The Legal Element’ where he used an engineering firm as an example. He underlined the difficulty engineering firms face when searching for a legal firm with engineering representation. “There’s a couple of attributes engineers tend to look for in a law firm. Attention to detail, down to technical minutiae, and working on strict timelines. Done right, it’s like talking to an engineer as an engineer.” Scola said.

According to Scola, his firm caters to many technical and scientific sectors and looks to add legal professionals with similar backgrounds that match the civil, mechanical or chemical engineering expertise of the clients they’re advising. Although it is not an easy task, Scola has been fortunate enough to recently add two people to their firm in Washington D.C.

“Oftentimes, when engineering people call, it’s a business guy with an engineering background,” he said. “And that first point of contact isn’t often sure what they need yet. So, if you can speak that language, you can also guide them better with questions.”
