Hoffmann & Baron LLP Managing Partner Featured On New Jersey Business Podcast

Parsippany, NJ – Daniel A. Scola, Jr., Managing Partner, Hoffmann & Baron, LLP, was recently featured on New Jersey Business Podcast.

In a wide-ranging conversation with Host Paul Valverde, Scola discussed the importance of protecting your intellectual property (IP), the different types of IP you could protect as a business owner, and the liabilities you could be exposed to if you do not protect your IP.

According to Scola, “Intellectual property deals with ideas, and the protection of those ideas…think of it like this, you have your house, you have your land, that’s called real property because it is a tangible form. Intellectual property is intangible, it’s an idea.”

Scola and his firm work with a variety of companies; entrepreneurial to global.   For Scola, it’s about the small businesses. Scola elaborates, “I love the smaller businesses, I get to grow with them. You get to put a strategy in place.”  The experience is very different compared to larger businesses with more developed strategies.

Scola continues, “I always recommend anytime you have an idea whether it be a business name or an idea for an invention that you take the extra step to protect it.”
